Sky Surfing is a discipline that requires specialist training and equipment. The Sky Surfing course is structured to allow for performance based teaching and assessment.

Minimum requirements to participate in the course are:

  • Australian Parachute Federation “C” License or overseas equivalent

  • 100 + jumps

  • The approval of the Chief Instructor

  • Suitable parachuting equipment

All training jumps are carried out under the direct supervision of a suitably qualified Instructor “B” with the relevant Sky Surfing abilities.

  • Boards, Bindings and Jump Suits are supplied as part of the course

  • Video is used as a training tool in the initial stages.

  • Boards are available for both left & right foot forward.

  • Trainees start with a small board, usually for the first 4 to six jumps. They can then move on to a larger Intermediate Board as experience builds.

Assessments will be made as to skills demonstrated before logbook endorsements are entered. Endorsement will signify ability only up to an intermediate stage.

Persons wishing to advance past the intermediate level will have to continue practicing on their own initiative. Hire boards are available to this end.
