Accelerated Freefall Program
Skydive Solo
Can’t get enough? Want to Jump with your mates, Free Fly, or even jump a Wing Suit? Accelerated Freefall (AFF) is the place to start. Southern Skydivers runs monthly training programs to teach you and your mates to jump solo.
Our AFF program is an internationally recognized course designed to teach you the theory and practice behind the sport of skydiving. Once qualified, you will be able to Skydive completely on your own.
Don’t stop there! Further your qualifications and you will be able to skydive for fun at any Drop Zone in the world, compete in competitions, or make skydiving your career (earn doing something you love!)
How does it work?
Your first jump training will run over 2 days. Day 1 involves around 9 hours of comprehensive training on the ground, before heading up to altitude to jump on day 2. On your first jump you will be assisted by 2 instructors, watching as you perform some basic tasks on the way down and then pull your own parachute at 4,500ft. From here you will fly the parachute yourself to the landing area.
After you have completed your first jump, there are a further eight stages to complete before you will be able to jump without the assistance of your instructor. Each stage involves a 20 – 30 minute briefing prior to each of your jumps.
When Can I Start?
Southern Skydivers will be running monthly first jump courses. We are passionate about producing good, proficient and safe skydivers, so course sizes are limited to small groups.
What’s it going to cost?
AFF Level 1 including first jump course. $525
AFF Levels 2 & 3 $265
AFF Levels 4 to 8 $189
Level 9 $90
Solo Consolidation jumps $70
Each stage must be completed in order, and includes 1 jump. AFF training works on a pass/fail system, and each stage must be graded as a ‘pass’ in order to proceed to the following stage.
Staying Current
Learning to skydive is best done in a hurry! Large breaks between jumps while you’re learning slows your progression, so it is better to build on current knowledge and complete your course within a 3 – 6 week period.
